TRACtion Partners Meeting in Ireland

ATU St Angelas hosted TRACtion research partners from the University of Malta and the University of Helsinki in Ireland, funded by the Creative Europe Programme. The Irish project explored textile heritage, focusing on costume motifs and lace techniques. The team visited museums, engaged in lace workshops, and held a seminar on traditional costume techniques.

The seminar was titled “Activating Design Thinking, Creativity, and Innovation Using Traditional Costume Techniques,” where TRACtion explored the significance of the Għonnella in Maltese culture, Karelian folk costumes’ insights into family groups and social status, and Irish costumes’ whitework embroidery and traditional lace techniques.
