ATU St Angelas recently welcomed adult learners on campus for two Saturday workshops. Traditional costume designs and embellishments were the sources of inspiration for the workshops. Costume motifs and embellishment techniques were shared, and new ways to respond to the traditional designs were encouraged. Participants developed an understanding of design principles and textile techniques such as printing and embroidery. The workshop environment was creative. The workshop facilitators Dr K Mcsweeney and Ana Faye integrated the @suomumutku design learning framework into their teaching.
