Mari Kosunen and Aino Eerikäinen from the University of Helsinki team of the TRACTion project visited the National Costume Center of Finland in Jyväskylä to learn about Eastern Finnish national costumes and their patterns and craft techniques. National costume consultant and researcher Taina Kangas presented the working instructions for the costumes and other important details that are needed to make the costumes correctly. The team was surprised by how closely the costumes resembled old exemplary folk costumes from the 19th century.
