The TRACTion Team of the University of Helsinki visited the collections in the South Karelian Museum to study the 19th-century traditional folk costumes from Eastern Finland. Our team was surprised at how bright the colours of the costumes still were. We took tiny samples from some of the costumes’ embroidery yarns for the chemical dye analysis. We are excited to see the results of the analyses in the near future.
